With Diwali, Halloween and Bonfire Night all quickly approaching this is one of the most exciting times of the year for children. But it can also be one of the most dangerous.
Diwali
Have a safe Diwali
π―οΈ Only use fireworks that are suitable for the space you have
π―οΈ If using candles keep them in a candle holder well out of reach of children and pets
π―οΈ Traditional outfits can be highly flammable so stay well away from open flames
π―οΈ If clothing does catch fire remember to STOP, DROP and ROLL

Halloween
Be careful what you wear when youβre out to scare
Some fancy dress costumes are highly flammable so they can ignite almost instantly and burn fast.
π Try to buy from a reputable store or website. Cheap costumes may not meet UK safety standards.
π Look for a costume with a UKCA or CE mark
π Look for a label that says: βThis garment has undergone additional safety testing for flammabilityβ
π Remind children to stay well away from naked flames and other heat sources
